MEET HUGO KALM FUNKESON: DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER AT CONFIGURA

tell us about yourself, who are you?

I'm Hugo, born and raised in Linköping. I just became a father 6 months ago to a beautiful baby girl Essa. Since 2022 me and my wife Charlotta live in a house, where I get to have my own man cave with all my video game consoles, music instruments, Star Wars figurines, helmets and lightsabers and a racing seat – so yeah, I’m pretty much into the whole playing video games and loving Star Wars thing!

During my working years I have hosted radio shows, played DJ sets at night clubs, managed a team producing audiobooks and advised companies on digital marketing strategies. A younger version of me spent time with friends playing video games, performing in musicals, singing in choirs, playing the drums and so much more fun stuff!

what's your role at configura?

My role as a Digital Marketing Manager aims to help Configura add an extra level of competence on this kind of big topic. It’s not just about ad copy or making the right content – it's about reaching the right audience with the right messaging at the right time, while also making sure we can use the data from campaigns and tracking to make informed decisions on future projects. I will be overseeing and managing campaigns and strategies, and together with the team work towards Configura’s wider company goals.

What do you find most inspiring about working at a global IT company?

The commitment to the end user. All of Configura working hard to solve our customers’ problems – sometimes even those they didn’t know they had. Making the experience of using our software great and effortless. These are some things I want to come through to those who have yet to try our platform. It’s inspiring to start at a company with such an incredible platform of tools you get to learn about – you just want to tell the whole world about it!

what are you most excited about as you move forward in your role?

Being part of an amazing team and exploring new ways to tell our future customers about our value proposition. Learning from what works and what doesn’t and streamlining workflows for us to do our best conveying that to the market. Marketing is never static – it's evolving with new technologies, trends, user behaviors, platforms and ways of collecting and interpreting data. I’m excited to explore all that together.

if you were a fictional character for a day, who would it be and why?

Wow, so many to choose from. Ok, shocking maybe but I’m going to go with Luke Skywalker. I mean... the Force, lightsabers, Chewbacca as your buddy, roaming the stars at light speed – meeting Grogu! I rest my case. May the force be with you.
