6 Lessons Learned from ProMat and LogiMAT 2023

Industry trade shows provide an opportunity for manufacturers and service providers to showcase products and solutions, network with one another and learn about industry trends.

Configura recently attended two prominent material handling industry tradeshows: ProMat 2023 in Chicago, Illinois, USA and LogiMAT in Stuttgart, Germany.

Several Configurans traveled to represent the company, demo our software solutions and foster new and existing professional relationships. Our booth was active each day and the energy permeating the many exhibit halls was invigorating.  

 

Tradeshow Takeaways

 

When we reflect on our experience engaging with over 100,000 people and 2,500 exhibit booths over the course of a combined seven days, our list of lessons learned could fill several notebooks!  

 

Here are our top six takeaways from ProMat and LogiMAT 2023: 

  1. Many of the world’s major players in intralogistics and automation were present at both tradeshows—these events are a place to see and be seen.  
  2. There is a renewed focus on energy efficiency and sustainability in warehousing, especially as natural gas prices continue to fluctuate due to geopolitical forces. 
  3. Automated guided vehicles (AGVs), automated mobile robots (AMRs), humanoids and cobots are on the rise as key solutions to boost warehouse efficiency and ease labor constraints. 
  4. More and more companies are looking for digital twin solutions; a virtual model designed to accurately reflect a physical object using real-time sensors. 
  5. Simulation solutions are being sought with increasing regularity.  
  6. There is a call for increasing interconnectivity and smart automation as part of Industry 4.0. 

 

These findings align with many of our solutions and give us confidence that Configura is poised to bring added success to the industry. By tying together warehouse design software like CET Material Handling, simulation software, digital twin technology and various warehouse management software systems, businesses can optimize their warehouse operations and gain a competitive advantage.
