New Features
New Extension - CET Editables BETA
A whole new Extension is released with CET Designer 2.5.3 - CET Editables BETA! This Extension makes it possible to manually edit and customize components in your projects. For example, it can be used for customizations such as:
- shortening or lengthening table tops
- replacing the legs on a chair with the legs from a different chair
- altering the distance between the shelves in a bookcase
- replacing the graphics of a component with the graphics of a different component
As with CET Designer in general, you can reduce your time and effort by saving edited components as favorites and later insert them in your drawings.
CET Editables BETA is downloaded free of charge from the Extension Manager. Please keep in mind that this is a beta release of the CET Editables Extension, and as such it is not completely finalized - not all texts are in place yet, or fully detailed. There may also be bugs or onexpected behaviors present.
We appreciate and value your feedback and opinions on this new Extension, so don't hesitate to use the feedback buttons found at the top of the CET Editables BETA component tab.

Added Functionality in the CET Movie Studio Extension
The CET Movie Studio Extension contains improvements in several areas, as described below.
- Four new tools have been added to give you greater control over how your camera should turn and move as it follows a camera path:

Change target gives the camera directions on what to look at during a specified segment of the camera path. Between a starting point and an end point, the camera turns to look at the set target before it turns back to look in the direction of travel when it reaches the end point of the segment.
Change elevation modifies the camera elevation during a specified transition segment. Between a starting point and an end point, the camera increases or decreases its elevation. When the camera reaches the end point of the transition segment, it continues moving at the new elevation until there is a new elevation change, or for the remainder of the path.
Change speed alters the camera speed during a specified transition segment. Between a starting point and an end point, the camera increases or decreases its speed. When the camera reaches the end point of the transition segment, it continues moving at the new speed until there is a new speed change, or for the remainder of the path.
Change field of view makes the camera switch to using a wider or narrower lens to take in and show more or less of the drawing during a specified transition segment. Between a starting point and an end point, the camera lens turns either narrower or wider. When the camera reaches the end point of the transition segment, it continues moving at the new field of view until there is a new change, or for the remainder of the path.
- A red dot now indicates the placement of the camera when playing back a camera path. This makes it easy to know exactly where the camera is at a given moment.

- While creating a movie, CET Movie Studio now displays elapsed time and estimated remaining time. NOTE: creating and saving movies is only possible when the advanced graphics engine is enabled in CET Designer.

-
A new option has been added for movie rendering - Realtime. Choosing this option makes CET Designer capture unrendered images from your drawings to create a movie, which is much faster than creating a fully rendered movie (up to 100-200 times faster). This is perfect for creating quick examples for sharing with customers before committing to a fully rendered movie. Realtime capture respects your settings for realtime lights; if lights are turned on they are also included in the movie (however, it adds to the time it takes to render the movie). NOTE: creating and saving movies is only possible when the advanced graphics engine is enabled in CET Designer.

New Tools for Drawing Circles
The Tools component tab has a newcomer - 2D Circles!
-
Here you will now find two tools for drawing circles, one by radius and one by diameter. As with lines and arrows, simply click the circle icon, move the mouse pointer to the drawing area and then click and move the mouse pointer to draw a circle.

Changes
The 2.5.3 version of CET Designer also brings about some minor changes.
Arrows
- Arrow heads now correctly change their color when their line color is changed.
Text
- All text from the Label tool and the Text tool now have black as default color, instead of a dark grey color.
Revision Cloud
-
The Revision Cloud feature has been supplemented with color control - you can now change the color of a revision cloud just like with any other line in CET Designer.
-
Line control has also been added. This means that all line styles available for regular lines in the program are also available for revision clouds.
NOTE: changing line style or line thickness does not affect the 3D representation of the revision cloud (if the checkbox Show in 3D in the quick properties box has been selected).
Solved Issues
A number of issues have been solved for this release.
Calculation
- Problem that could, under some circumstances, cause the Calculation to lose custom article view settings when saving the drawing - fixed.
- Issue with autosaving that could, under some circumstances, cause the automatic price update in the Calculation to stop automatically updating the price - fixed.
- Problem with sorting multiple columns in the Calculation view that could result in CET Designer displaying an incorrect sorting - fixed.
- Issue with adjusting the number of items in the Calculation to a negative number. This could make CET Designer display a warning in some fields rather than an actual value - fixed.
Printing
- Fixed problem with automatic image resizing for inserted images that could cause CET Designer to try too hard keeping down the amount of memory used by inserted images, resulting in visible compression artifacts. This should now be less noticeable.
DWG
- Fixed issue with dwg import and entities very far away from the zero point, causing the Paper View to freeze up. CET Designer no longer displays objects that are farther away from the zero point than 100 000 km (67,137 miles) which prevents the Paper View from freezing up.
- Problem with some imported dwg drawings displaying the wrong colors for their lines - fixed.
- Issue that users were sometimes able to grab and move their imported dwg drawings in the 3D view even though the showing of 3D was turned off for that particular dwg drawing - fixed.
- Problem with imported dwg drawings and applied materials that could cause the materials to disappear when the drawing was loaded - fixed.
Text
- Issue with editing a text component, leading to a crash - fixed.
Miscellaneous
- Problem with the freestanding monitor and ceiling lamp from the Office Accessories component tab that could cause them to be pasted to the wrong elevation during copy/paste - fixed.
This fixed was meant to be included in the 2.5.2 release but got left out by mistake. This has now been corrected and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
- Issue with the Select material dialog that would not update correctly if the texture path was typed in manually - fixed. CET Designer now correctly updates the dialog contents as you type in the path.
- General problem with rendering and the advanced graphics engine that could lead to a crash - fixed.
